Jesus the Messiah was repeatedly called the Son of David who himself was a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now David was also the First King of the tribe of Judah following the first split from the other tribes.
Jesus did it with his disciples. The lamb was killed and eaten in a private home. The sacrifice of the Passover Lamb in the Hebrew home was God’s very contract with each individual ancient Hebrew and that’s why Jesus repeated it with his disciples in order to introduce the new covenant.

Jesus was a Judahite or Judean not a Jew. There’s a difference.
WHO IS A JEW?
The word “Jew” did not come into existence until the year 1775. Prior to that the word “Jew” cannot be found in any language. It points to someone who follows and adheres to a faith somewhat similar to that of the ancient Judahites, but is not of the tribe and stock of Judah. In other words, Jews are people from nations other than the 12 Hebrew tribes who practice a religion known as Judaism, the doctrine of Judah.
It is much like those who believe in Christ and are called “Christians” in honor of the One whom they follow and their religion is known as Christianity, the doctrine of Christ. If one were to say that all Christians are Judahites because Christ was of the tribe of Judah, it would be a fallacy. In much the same way, Jews are not Judahites.
Nowhere in the Bible is the word Jew or Jewish ever written. In both the Old Testament Hebrew and the New Testament Greek the translated word is always meant to be Judah or Judahite(s), of the physical tribe and stock of Judah, not of the converted.

According to Jewish Historian Benjamin Freedman, author of Facts Are Facts:
“The best known 18th century editions of the New Testament in English are the Rheims (Douai) Edition and the King James Authorized Edition. The Rheims (Douai) translation of the New Testament into English was first printed in 1582 but the word “Jew” did not appear in it.“
“The King James Authorized translation of the New Testament into English was begun in 1604 and first published in 1611. The word “Jew” did not appear in it either. The word “Jew” appeared in both these well known editions in their 18th century revised versions for the first times.“
“The present generally accepted word “Jew” is fundamentally responsible for the confusion in the minds of Christians regarding elementary tenets of the Christian faith. It is likewise responsible today to a very great extent for the dilution of the devotion of countless Christians for their Christian faith. The implications, inferences and innuendos of the word “Jew” today, to the preponderant majority of intelligent and informed Christians, is contradictory and in complete conflict with incontestable historic fact. Christians who cannot be fooled any longer are suspect of the Christian clergy who continue to repeat, and repeat, and repeat ad nauseam their pet theme song “Jesus was a Jew”. It actually now approaches a psychosis.” (End Quote)
OLD TESTAMENT PROSELYTIZERS
Of the 12 Hebrew tribes, Judah was the most faithful and the most active in making converts, especially after they teamed up with the Levites. Their converts became known as the ones who prayed to Jehovah, the one true God.
“For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the LORD.” 2 Chronicles 11:14
The other 10 tribes collectively known as Israel separated from Judah and always did evil in God’s eyes.
“Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.” Hosea 11:12
So while Judah was helping the priests in the implementation of their office, Israel was basking in evil. Thus, Judah became the one that carried the torch of God’s light unto the nations. A process that would culminate with the advent of Jesus the Christ and His church. Because just like the Christian Church, the Judahite Hebrew nation was a proselytizing nation that wanted people all over the world to know and pray to the true God of the Universe even though at one point the conversion process became totally corrupted. Let’s hear Jesus:
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.” Matthew 23:15
Basically, the proselytizers of Judah scattered all over the world including such places as Ephesus and Damascus as mentioned by the Apostle Paul in the Book of Acts. Those who converted didn’t miraculously become Judahites and Hebrews. How could anyone? The proselytes only professed to worship the God of Abraham and to adhere to the various rules of the faith. They maintained their own cultures and identities. Much like all the nations that converted to Christianity.
For example, according to Jewish traditions, even the prophet Obadiah himself was a convert. He was an Edomite, not a Hebrew. Now, Edom was the brother of Jacob or Israel. So why did God pick an Edomite preacher and not a Hebrew one to go to the Edomites? Because God knows very well that a prophet is never accepted in his own home – ask Jesus. And because God wanted Edom to pay for what he had done to his brother Jacob He called on an Edomite prophet to warn them knowing the homegrown prophet would be rejected. Otherwise, he would have sent an Israelite like he did with Jonah the Hebrew in Nineveh (Modern Iraq) where they all repented (and converted) to Jonah’s chagrin. As expected, Edom did not repent and suffered the consequences.
God did the same thing to the Hebrews. He sent them one of their own, Jesus, so He could get revenge for all the prophets they had killed, Jesus included. A revenge that took place in AD 70 when God dispatched the Roman army to destroy the Hebrew Nation, Jerusalem and the Temple. A revenge that is known as the Apocalypse, the Tribulation, the Armageddon, the End of the Age of the Hebrews as prophesied by Christ and by John in the entire book of Revelations and as recorded by the historian Josephus in The Judean War. A revenge that wiped out the entire Hebrew race.
“Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.” Luke 23:28
“But he responded, ‘Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!'” Matthew 24: 2
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city.” Luke 21: 20,21
“Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” Matthew 24:34
“And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.” Rev 11:8
The Roman Army and the Hebrew Genocide in Jerusalem 70 AD
That is why the Hebrew Tribes are no longer around. They can’t and won’t be ‘found’ either. Because they’re not lost, they’re dead. God would have been very capable of keeping track of them as He had done before through endless censuses even when they were in exile.
The majority of Jews today are in fact the non-Semitic, non-Israelite Ashkenazim andSephardim who in later times joined small numbers of different races that converted to Judaism: Polish, Russians, Ukrainians, Germans, etc. These latter ones form a minority known as European Jews who when coupled with the Ashkenazim constitute a majority against the darker-skinned Sephardic and African Jews. These European and African Jews are not of Abraham’s bloodline either.
None of these different groups can claim to trace their ancestor to Abraham, Jacob or Judah. In other words, they’re not the Hebrews of the bible. And resurrecting the dead Hebrew tongue after centuries in the dustbin of oblivion in order to make it modern Israel’s official language won’t change those facts much like parking a Subaru in a Lamborghini dealership won’t turn it into a Veneno Roadster.
JESUS AND THE HOUSE OF JUDAH
“The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh (Messiah) comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the nations.” Genesis 49:10
Jesus the Messiah was repeatedly called the Son of David who himself was a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now David was also the First King of the tribe of Judah following the first split from the other tribes.
“And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.” 2 Samuel 2:4
Since Jesus was born of the lineage of David people of his time called Him Son of David because they knew that only a son of David could sit on the throne.
“The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.” Jeremiah 23:5-6
Thus, the awaited King was to be a Savior also. And a Savior always brings Salvation. That’s why Jesus said:
“Salvation is of Judah.” John 4:22
But in every bible that verse is mistranslated as “Salvation is of the Jews.” Let’s go to the original Greek word: Ioudaios which literally translated means Belonging to Judah. Of the tribe of Judah.
And that’s extremely important because Jesus knew why He said Judah and not Levi nor Ephraim nor any of the other tribes nor even Jacob nor Israel. He was announcing the fulfillment of every Old Testament prophecy concerning Himself, including Micah’s prophecy which was proclaimed some time during 737-696 BC:
“And thou, Bethlehem Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Judah: out of theeshall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity.” Micah 5:2
Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem, Judah. And only Jesus’ going forth could have been from the beginning, from the days of eternity because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was Emmanuel, God with us. God made flesh.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us.” Matthew 1:23
Furthermore, the Judahites kept God’s covenant with Moses by slaughtering and eating a lamb for Passover.
Jesus did it with his disciples. The lamb was killed and eaten in a private home. The sacrifice of the Passover Lamb in the Hebrew home was God’s very contract with each individual ancient Hebrew and that’s why Jesus repeated it with his disciples in order to introduce the new covenant.
“Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.” Exodus 12:3
Jews don’t kill a lamb for Passover in their homes to keep the old contract alive and most of them follow the Talmud, a man-inspired book full of Babylonian superstitions. Therefore, such practices on their part demonstrate how distinct their faith is compared to the faith Jesus practiced.
CONCLUSION
Jesus was a true Judahite. He was the awaited King and Messiah. The Salvation that was to come from Judah. A salvation that was never to originate from those who converted. In other words, Jesus was not a Jew. That’s the difference.
